The Hot Plate / L'Assiette Chaude is operated by Makesense Records SARL (France). This policy explains what the app does with data. In short: there are no accounts, no advertising, and no tracking profiles.
1. Who is responsible
Makesense Records SARL, publisher of https://www.assiettechaude.com, acts as data controller. You can reach us at contact@assiettechaude.com for any question about this policy or your data.
2. Data we store on your device
The app keeps a few values in your browser's local storage: your selected background, your last thermostat and timer settings, whether the return hint was already shown, and a random identifier (an "anonymous device id") generated locally. This identifier is a random string; it contains no name, email or phone number and is not linked to any account. Clearing your browser data deletes all of it.
3. Data we store on our servers
If you buy a background, we store a purchase record containing the anonymous device id, the purchased background, the payment reference and the purchase date. This is what allows the app to unlock the background you paid for. We do not store your name, address or card details on our servers.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card data is entered directly in Stripe's secure checkout and never reaches our servers. Stripe processes billing information as an independent controller/processor under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy), including for fraud prevention and legal invoicing obligations.
5. Sensors and permissions
The app does not read your device temperature, location, camera, microphone or contacts. It may use the Screen Wake Lock API to keep the screen awake and the Battery Status API, where the browser exposes it, to stop heating when the battery runs low. Those readings stay in the page and are never transmitted.
6. Hosting and technical logs
The site and its database are hosted on Lovable Cloud infrastructure. As with any web server, technical request logs (IP address, timestamp, user agent) may be produced for security and reliability. They are not used for profiling or advertising.
7. Legal basis and retention
Local settings rely on the strict necessity of making the app work as you asked. Purchase records rely on the performance of our contract with you and on our accounting obligations; they are kept for the legal retention period applicable to sales records in France (up to 10 years for accounting documents).
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of the data linked to your anonymous device id, and lodge a complaint with the CNIL. Because we do not know who you are, please send us the device id shown in a purchase receipt so we can find the right record. Write to contact@assiettechaude.com.
9. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
