These terms govern your use of The Hot Plate / L'Assiette Chaude, a web application published by Makesense Records SARL. By using the app you accept them.
1. What the app does
The app deliberately runs CPU and GPU work in your browser so that your phone or tablet warms up, with a target dial, a timer and an automatic shutdown. The temperature shown is an estimate computed by a software model, not a measurement from a physical sensor.
2. Safe use — important
Heating is generated by normal computation, comparable to playing a demanding game. Even so: do not use the app under a pillow, blanket, in a pocket or in any enclosed space; do not use it while charging in a hot environment; do not use it on or near skin for prolonged periods, on infants, animals, or people who cannot feel heat; do not use it to heat food, medicine, or anything that must reach a controlled temperature. Stop immediately if the device becomes uncomfortably hot. You use the app at your own risk.
3. Battery and device wear
Sustained load consumes battery and produces heat, which over time contributes to normal battery ageing. We provide no guarantee on device performance, battery life or thermal behaviour, which depend on your hardware, its case, and the ambient temperature.
4. Purchases
Backgrounds are optional digital items sold at the price displayed at checkout, taxes included where applicable. They are unlocked for the browser that made the purchase, identified by an anonymous device id. Clearing your browser data or switching device or browser may make a purchase unavailable; contact us and we will do our best to restore it.
5. Availability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or discontinue features, including individual backgrounds, at any time. Where a paid feature is permanently discontinued shortly after purchase, contact us for a refund.
6. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to bypass payment, reverse-engineer the paid content, overload the service, or redistribute the app's assets. The app, its code, design and background artwork remain the property of Makesense Records SARL.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your statutory consumer rights.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory rules of their country of residence and may use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform.
